Learn to Play Pai-Gow Poker and WIN!
Pai gow poker is one of the easiest games at the casino to learn, and it’s starting to make a big impression around the world. It hasn’t been around in the casinos for very long, but its ancestor, the domino game of pai gow has been played for thousands of years. While the domino version is steeped in tradition, the casino game, played with a regular deck of 52 cards (and the Joker), has rules that would be familiar to anyone who has ever played poker. When you start to learn to play pai gow poker, you’ll quickly become familiar with how to set up your hands because all the hand rankings are the same as in traditional poker with only a couple of exceptions. For this reason, it’s really pretty easy to learn to play pai gow poker. To begin with, you may have a Joker turning up in your hands (or the dealer’s). The Joker is a wild card, and it can take the place of any other card, so you should learn to use it to your advantage. you may have noticed that I’ve been saying “hands” instead of “hand”. That’s because when you first start to learn to play pai gow poker, you may hear it called “two-handed poker”. That’s because you and the dealer are each dealt 7 cards, and you’re required to split your cards into two hands, one with 5 cards, and the other with 2. So when you are dealt a Joker, you might want to split it into the 2-card hand, which is also called the “2nd-highest” or “front” hand. That way, you can use it to make a pair. The reason the 2-card hand is called the 2nd highest is that it cannot outrank the 5-card hand, which may also be called the “1st-highest” or “back”. You can also use a Joker to complete a straight, a straight flush or a flush in your back hand. The terms “Front” and “Back” simply refer to where on the table the hands are placed in front of you. Once it’s on your computer, you’ll quickly see what is meant by this new terminology. Now, there’s really only one more thing to tell you about that’s different from regular poker. You probably know what a straight is, and that 10-J-Q-K-A is the highest straight you can get. Well in pai gow poker, the 2nd-highest straight is not a 9-10-J-Q-K as you might expect, but A-1-2-3-4. So be careful, because you might forget that it even outranks even a King-high straight. As I’ve already explained; when you learn to play pai gow poker, you should definitely start off by using an online or computer game for learning the basics and to get comfortable with the rules. It’s also a good idea to make sure that it’s a free game, because as you learn to play pai gow poker, you’re sure to make some mistakes in the beginning. One of the most basic things you will of course need to know when you learn to play pai gow poker is how to know if you’ve won or lost a hand. This is a very simple matter to figure out. Now, both you and the dealer have two poker hands; a 2-card hand and a 5-card hand. To win the hand, your front hand must out-rank the dealer’s front hand, and the same for the back. You must win with both of your hands. If you each have one hand that outranks the other’s hand, it’s a tie or a push, and you get your money back. Lastly, if the dealer has the two winning hands, you lose. Not much to it. It’s not as easy as it might appear, because you have to split up 7 cards that would make a fantastic hand in regular poker.
